2025 AUDI RS E-TRON GT IS APPROACHING HYPERCAR LEVELS OF POWER

Audi's RS e-tron GT has been transformed into a real RS car. The 2025 RS e-tron GT Performance can go from 0-60 mph in just 2.4 seconds when you use the launch control mode, helped by new motors that make more than 300 horsepower more than last year's model, making it the quickest production Audi ever.

2025 Audi RS e-Tron GT
Base Trim Transmission 2-Speed Automatic
Base Trim Horsepower 844 hp
Base Trim Battery Capacity 97 kWh
Base Trim Charge Time 10-80% 18 minutes
Top Speed 155 mph

The only problem is that, much like last year, you can only unleash maximum acceleration from a stop. If you're on the roll, then max power mode is off-limits. You'll have to settle for a mere 200 extra horses most of the time. If you want your electric Audi quick but not quite that quick (or expensive), there's a new S model that sits between base and RS with a more Goldilocks approach to acceleration.

New Motors, New Battery, New Levels Of Speed

912 horsepower. That's what the new 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance model can deliver. But in, and only in, Launch Control mode. This makes it the quickest production Audi ever. It's still not as quick as its Porsche sibling, the Taycan Turbo GT, however, losing out by roughly three-tenths of a second.

Just like last year's RS model, the 2025 RS e-tron GT Performance will make less the rest of the time. 738 horsepower and 757 lb-ft of torque. At least you get a boost mode this year, which brings it up to 832 for 10 seconds at a time.

Audi has done it with big changes, starting by adding more copper to the motors. The rotor in the motor is lighter and more compact, too, taking 22 pounds off of the car. A new inverter handles the extra electricity, delivering double the current for the front motor of the new S model.

Braking regen performance is up too. E-tron GT models can brake at up to 0.45g g, taking in 400 kW of power, using only regenerative braking. A new battery pack holds 105 kWh, 12 percent more than before, for an anticipated longer range - no figure given for the RS, though, but the S should manage 300 miles. 51 more than the 2024 GT.

The pack can charge more quickly, 320 kW instead of 270. Audi says it drops the 10-80 percent Level 3 charge time from 21.5 to 18 minutes.

New Powerful S Model Becomes The Entry Model

For the rest of the world, there is a "standard" RS e-tron GT as well, and it still makes much more horsepower than last year: the same 738 ponies (up from 590 horsepower in 2024 or 637 with Launch Control) but just 638 lb-ft. It too has a boost mode that bumps power to 764 horsepower for 10-second periods.

Audi's new S e-tron GT fills in the gap between the old (now discontinued) base and new RS models. It delivers 583 horses and 546 lb-ft. In Launch Control it does 671 hp for 10 seconds, more than the old RS's max, and hits 0-60 in 3.3 seconds.

Here's what to expect from Ingolstadt's electric super sedan.

Despite lower max power, it has the same battery and regenerative ability as the RS. That is good for charging and range, as well as the driving experience.

Audi is taking orders for the 2025 e-tron GT now. S models start from $125,500 for the Premium Plus and $135,800 for the Prestige. RS e-tron GT Performance models start from $167,000.

All pricing mentioned in this article excludes Audi's destination charge of $1,225.
