SCOUT MOTORS ANNOUNCES REVEAL DATE FOR ITS NEW EV OFF-ROADERS

  • Scout Motors has announced that it will reveal its new electric-vehicle lineup on October 24.
  • Little is known so far, but the Scout pickup truck and Scout SUV are expected to feature a tough, boxy design.
  • The EVs will be built in a new dedicated factory in South Carolina starting in 2026.

At long last, we know when we will catch the first glimpse of the first vehicle from the revived Scout Motors. The brand, which is being rejuvenated as an electric off-road-focused manufacturer by Volkswagen, will launch with an EV SUV and an EV pickup truck. Now we know that the new Scout lineup will be officially unveiled on October 24.

The brand published a single teaser image that appears to show an integrated compass in the headliner of a vehicle. No other details on the new Scout vehicles were shared, but the company did note that the reveal date is 44 years to the week since the final Scout II, the last roadgoing SUV sold with a Scout badge, rolled off the production line.

Very little has been confirmed about the new Scout models. The brand released a sketch of both the SUV and pickup, showing boxy bodywork and a window outline that swoops upward to create a chunky rear pillar. Another image showed the Scout's front end shrouded in darkness but affirming the squared-off look.

The Scout SUV and Scout pickup will ride on a new EV platform designed with a focus on off-roading. Last year, Scout made a series of trademark filings that hint at possible names for the new vehicles, including throwback references like "Scout II" and "Scout Traveler" and new monikers like "Scout Reaper."

Production is scheduled to kick off in 2026, with the Scout vehicles set to be built in a new $2 billion factory in Blythewood, South Carolina, dedicated to the revived brand.
